As clear from the pie chart, the vast majority of people in Western Europe are French or German. They are followed by the Dutch and Austrians, who make up 10% of the people in the region. Although these four ethnic groups are the majorities in the region, there are plenty of other smaller ethnic groups that have survived to this day.
The dominant ethnic groups are located in France and Germany: many other smaller minorities are also found in these cultural hubs. The best known ethnic conflict in Western would be the Holocaust, where 11 million total died with the main victim being the Jews. Right now, many immigrants are coming from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq. Most immigrants are going to Germany, who got more than 476,000 applicants. More than 1,800,000 people have been recorded crossing into Europe.
